The site is located in Stonyhurst, adjacent to Cromwell’s Bridge in an area of Open Countryside. The clients wanted to create a contemporary open plan living space to enjoy views of Hodder River and convert their existing barn into a home office and guest suite.

The existing property has a traditional character and sits within one of the most picturesque settings across the Ribble Valley. The barn has remained unaltered for many years and has therefore retained its original features and character. The clients now wish to improve their existing property, utilise their derelict barn and futureproof their home.

The proposal will improve the way they live and how they use their house and garden, whilst creating a more efficient ground floor layout to their dwelling, with additional living accommodation in the barn.

The proposal creates a contemporary, highly glazed open plan kitchen dining living space with views across the river, creates a new rear entrance with dog shower, and converts the barn into a unique home office, gym and guest suite.
